Making my mark!

On Wednesday I, along with most of the country, voted in the municipal elections. Fact of the matter is that it is our duty as South Africans to take part in these votes in order to make a difference in our country. Now, I can understand people voicing their opinions about the country and I can accept that there are, and always will be, complaints too.

However what I cannot tolerate is people who cannot bother to stand in a line for 2 hours of their lives and cast their vote, not only do they not vote but these people are often the individuals with the most to complain about! Personally I am just sick and tired of these people standing on their political soap boxes and ranting and raving about how messed up South Africa is when they are not willing to do ANYTHING about it, saying "My vote wont change anything!". What if we all had that attitude?

Another thing that I noticed over the voting period on Wednesday is that so many people were openly stating and telling the world who they voted for and why. One person in particular even going to the extent of saying "It wont help if I vote for the DA because there are way more black people who will vote for the ANC". I have never really been one to judge but a comment like that shows just how shallow an individuals gene pool really is!!

Other than that I glad that I could make my mark, even if it has not had radical changes yet, the future is bright if people have the right attitude.
